Our ReSource On the Rise (OTR) group is hard at work this summer sharing their time and business skills with some of our non-profit clients. The eight young professionals have enjoyed getting to know one another through an “escape room” event in May, and getting to know several non-profits through a “speed networking” event in June, during which they were matched with non-profits whose work and needs personally resonated with them.

Now, they’re putting their talents to work, helping non-profits get the professional services they need to run their organizations.

“I’ve enjoyed my time working with Never the Less,” says OTR member Pete Schramm. He’s working with the group on fundraising and recruiting, using social media and communicating with local schools. “I’m looking forward to seeing their message spread and the impact of their mission grow.”

Nick Ibrahim, another OTR member, is working with Dr. Tommie Stroude at Word of Truth Ministries Church to organize their financial information, identify reporting strengths and opportunities, and train someone to keep up the work long-term.

“I’m working with Inter Parish Ministry (IPM) on a ribbon cutting ceremony for their newest location in the Batavia area,” says Meagan Webb, “It’s been a great experience so far.” She’s gotten a tour of their new location, learned what IPM does for the community, and hopes to be a part of the IPM team even after the Sept. 22 event.

The projects come to a close in September, after which the OTR members will report out about their experiences and celebrate with ReSource at the annual gala event in October.
