ReSource Unveils New Office Space for Mt. Healthy Alliance Youth Director
On Friday, May 30, Pastor Zack Whittle, Mt. Healthy Alliance's teen center youth director, cut the ribbon to his brand-new office.
The unveiling of the collaborative office project, valued at close to $5,000, was the final step in a months-long contest sponsored by ReSource that annually grants a free makeover to a member non-profit organization.
Mt. Healthy Alliance, a non-profit organization combining several Mt. Healthy-area church congregations, was named the winner of ReSource's 2014 Member Makeover Contest on April 11.
The teen center, which is part of Mt. Healthy Alliance's free, after-school program, is now outfitted with the new space for Whittle thanks to volunteers from ReSource and the Alliance, who worked together to design the office, erect and paint walls, select furniture from ReSource's Sharonville warehouse and decorate with a mural and other items.
"We tried to make sure he (Whittle) has the appropriate kind of office he needs to be a counselor, a pastor and a coach and friend," said ReSource Development Director Martha Steier. "We hope to make him more successful and those kids happy. I know he's going to impact them for their lives, and that's pretty cool."
BKD Partners with ReSource on Student Volunteer Project
On Friday, May 30, 30 high-performing college accounting students from across the region spent the morning at ReSource as part of a leadership program sponsored by accounting firm BKD CPAs & Advisors.
From 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., the students - along with a few employees from BKD - divided into teams to give ReSource's Sharonville warehouse a "clean sweep," and then worked with interior designers to create office and room showrooms out of the warehouse inventory of furniture and decorations.
BKD partnered with ReSource on the service project component of its leadership program to highlight to potential future employees the company's philosophy of philanthropy.
"We like our students to participate in something in the community, and it's very rewarding to help out such a genuine group of individuals at ReSource," said BKD recruiter Krystal Killingsworth. "They're incredibly passionate about what they do."

Event Brings in 10,000 Pounds of Recyclable Electronics
Thanks to everyone who participated in ReSource's electronics recycling event on May 21.
ReSource partnered with Cohen, a scrap metal and electronics recycler, to give non-profit organizations and individuals the opportunity to recycle their electronics. ReSource's member non-profit organizations were able to drop off their no-longer-needed electronics to be recycled for free; non-member non-profit organizations and individuals were asked to make a small, monetary donation in addition to dropping off their recyclables.
Items collected for recycling filled a 24-foot Cohen box truck and totaled roughly 10,000 pounds.
